A couple of weeks ago I wrote about how my Xbox 360 died. I tried the towel trick successfully but it was temporary at best. It would crash pretty consistently after that, so I ended up sending it back to Microsoft to get replaced/repaired.
I gotta say, I was pretty impressed with the speed with which MS handled my case. They sent me an empty box via purolator, I shipped it back with my Xbox inside and they shipped me a new Xbox, all within 1 week. Pretty sweet. Of course, it would’ve been sweeter if the Xbox wasn’t made with crappy components that melt in the first place, but what can you do?
Anyhow, I got a new 360 back. It has a manufacturing date almost a year later than my original one, so hopefully it includes some improved bits and this won’t be happening again :).
